Brooklyn New York Rooftop Wedding

Can you imagine being surrounded by rows and rows of growing florals and looking out at the expansive skyline of New York City? When Jen + Jeremy began planning their wedding, they knew they wanted to nix a lot of traditional aspects and focus on the setting and overall experience. Jen, the creative maven who works at Etsy, tells us: We’re not the most comfortable with having the attention fully on the two of us as a couple, so we ending up saying no to a father-daughter dance, speeches, cake-cutting, and line dancing…we kept the celebration true to who we were, which just meant eating a ton of delicious Taiwanese food and having a massive dance party to all of our favorite music.

Good food, an amazing view, and an expansive garden—sounds like a dream to us! Let’s see how these two crafted their intimate wedding, high above the streets of NYC, in all the photos by me, From the Daisies!

OUR FAVORITE MEMORY FROM THE WEDDING

"Shia LaBeouf" by Rob Cantor (a comedy song depicting LaBeouf as an "actual cannibal") started playing while everyone was on the dance floor and it was perfect. But that might come second to our friend chipping her front two teeth.

We know a few of you are probably eyeing that GORGEOUS + whimsical dress. It’s from Spell Designs (though it’s currently sold out, but Spell + Free People have other pretty pieces that are very similar).

OUR ADVICE TO THOSE PLANNING NOW

I'm such a planner and I thought I could do it all by myself, but the best investment we could have possibly made was hiring our day-of coordinator because we didn't have to worry about a single thing on the actual day of our wedding. They were brilliant and everything got done behind-the-scenes without us even noticing so we could focus on just being present.
