Last-Minute Elopement Creative Shoot

Non-conventional wedding with a non-conventional cake? Count me in.

This concept is an idea I had for my creative concepts workshop in Arizona - and Jamal and Natalie helped me execute it perfectly! I wanted it to feel very much like a shot-gun wedding, the “let’s just do it, right now” kinda vibe. Still, I kept some more traditional concepts like the veil, cake, and flowers. They just ended up being used in a somewhat non-traditional way.

I kept their clothes simple to keep with the “last-minute decision” feel, trying to keep the impression that they just got up and went. I wanted the florals to feel and look cheap and thankfully Steph with Flower Disco came up with the idea of using carnations! Lastly, I had to decide what to do with the cake… And what better way is there to eat cake than on the side of the road in a situation like this?

Shoot it at late blue hour or with mostly flash and give it that retro feel (and I’m the biggest fan of flash, which made it extra exciting for me to shoot) and voila! A last-minute elopement photoshoot!
