Taylor + Tyler's Laid-Back Hicksville Trailer Palace Wedding Photos
You never know where you’re going to end up as a wedding photographer. It’s part of what makes the job so fulfilling. You’re always heading somewhere new, doing something creative. This was true for Taylor and Tyler’s Hicksville Trailer Palace wedding photos too. It was a fun time. Here’s why.
The Couple’s Vibe
Taylor and Tyler found me on Instagram. One of my favorite things about working with them was how they made me feel like I’d known them for years. Being a part of their group of people was a blast.
That wasn’t an accident. Taylor and Tyler were so chill and just fun to be around. You could definitely tell by the vibe of their day that they truly cared about their circle of people and making sure they felt like they enjoyed themselves. That extended to everyone else too. They just wanted everyone to have a good time.
The Venue
For their wedding venue, Taylor and Tyler chose the Hicksville Trailer Palace in Joshua Tree, California. Instead of hotel rooms, the Hicksville Trailer Palace lets people rent trailers for the night. It has a salt water pool, big top with ball pit underneath it, firepits, and an overall fun feel and charm. And all of it gave us tons of great places to shoot their Hicksville Trailer Palace wedding photos.
Their Hicksville Trailer Palace Wedding Photos
When you wind up shooting at such a place with as many different unique spots as the Hicksville Trailer Palace, you need to take advantage of as much as possible. And we did.
There was the ball pit, which made some great shots with the group and just the couple too. With the group, we captured them mid-action, as some of them were throwing balls in the air. With the couple, we got a great overhead shot of them lying down in the pit.
The trailers mixed with the desert made interesting backdrops too. Just like with the ball pit, we took some photos of the group and some of just the couple. They felt like people on the road, just enjoying what’s out there, and stopping for a wedding along the way.
For their wedding, Taylor and Tyler kept it simple. It was just them, their friends and family, and the desert behind them, with some Joshua trees mixed in, which were another great element to work with. It was fun finding a pair right next to each other and taking some photos of Taylor and Tyler next to them. We even got one of the two of them laughing.
Those were some of my favorites of the whole wedding though. Just the ones of Taylor and Tyler enjoying each other. It didn’t matter if it was them eating some food, lounging together, or just taking one another in. These two were just great to watch and capture.
Heading Somewhere New
You never know where you’re going to end up as a wedding photographer. That’s what makes the job so exciting. It’s a chance to meet new people and shoot in interesting places. I love it, and I’m looking forward to whatever’s next.
