Kelsey and Bekah's Boulder Engagement Photos

There is beauty in simplicity. There is intimacy. When everything else is stripped away, kind of literally here, ha, the truth feels safe to come out. For Kelsey and Bekah, this truth was love. Those two don’t need somewhere to go. They don’t need flowers, dresses, or ceremonies. They only need each other, and their Boulder engagement photos show that.

The Idea For These Boulder Engagement Photos

I worked with Kelsey at a wedding. We hit it off, she wanted some work done, you know the rest.

I based Bekah and her Boulder engagement photos on them as a couple. I wanted the session to be intimate. I wanted it to be natural. Not a whole lot going on. We went to an open, mostly dirt field. I wanted to incorporate something that didn't belong, so I had them in clothing that reflected an at-home moment in comfys but outside.

That meant socks, underwear, and loose clothes. They looked like they’d just gotten done with something a little naughty, a little fun, or like they were about to. We had fun playing with that.

The Shoot

Kelsey and Bekah are so naturally intimate with each other. They are gentle and soft-spoken, both of them. Their love for one another felt precious, fragile in the unforgiving arms of the world.

Taking their Boulder engagement photos outside brought all that out. We started when the sun was still high enough to give us some good light. It held them like they held each other.

Posing them was fun. It was a simple session for their Boulder engagement photos, but I wanted it to be an intentional experience for them. They were casual, touching, playing, smiling, kissing. These were moments that could’ve happened in the bedroom, but here they were out in the open. Everyone could see them.

As we continued, the sun started going down. The shoot felt moodier, more secret. At one point, I had them sit and stand up against a telephone pole. The horizon and society sat behind them. They were distant, connected, hidden, exposed. I loved all of it, and so did they.

Sometimes all a good set of Boulder engagement photos needs is the couple and a space that allows them to be the purest form of their relationship with each other. Kelsey and Bekah rocked it. They could have been professional models. They were in my eyes.

Hey

I’m really good at taking Boulder engagement photos. Take a look. That’s not all I do though. I work with my clients to find the spots, the styles, that suit them best. That could be a dirt field, it could be a hotel, or maybe a castle. We do what works, not what’s easy.

My schedule fills up quick. I only do so many sessions a year. Doing that gives me the space I need to focus on crafting the best possible experience for you. An experience unlike any other.

If you’re looking for what I can do for you, let me know. I’d love to help you and your partner (or partners) express your truest selves.
