Ellyssa And James' Biker-Vibe Venice Beach Engagement Photos

I love taking couples to new places with their photos. I love pushing them. Not to be mean. I’m here to help! But to show them who they can be. With Ellyssa and James’ Venice Beach engagement photos, we found out, and it was great.

Ellyssa, James, And Me

Ellyssa and James met in Cali. They were really shy and hadn’t ever been in front of the camera before. You won’t be able to tell that from their Venice Beach engagement photos though.

I love helping my clients with this. I try really hard to create a very intentional space for them to feel comfortable and safe to create. I want them to find out what they can do, what they never thought they could do before.

It helped that Ellyssa and James were just the sweetest. I could talk for a while just about how kind they were.

Setting Up For Their Venice Beach Engagement Photos

Ellyssa and James hired my stylist, Natalie Jo Gray, and she nailed it. It was their vibe but with a bit more oomph.

I also wanted to add some sort of element to elevate the beach setting for these Venice Beach engagement photos. Sometimes you have a location in mind, but something feels like it’s missing. I ended up finding this bike you couldn’t even ride on the marketplace, and it was perfect. Best $50 I ever spent, haha.

Taking The Photos

My favorite part of this shoot was seeing how comfortable Ellyssa and James were to shoot with me even though they had never been in front of the camera before. Because of that, I was able to give them some killer photos.

The bike made it feel like a day out for them. Like something casual and fun. The clear day, palm trees, and soft colors of the buildings behind them built a great frame for their Venice Beach engagement photos.

We started on the sand and had some fun playing around with different poses near and on the bike. We also took some photos near the lifeguard stand.

Afterward, we moved into the city. It felt like Ellyssa and James were a part of this neighborhood. A little thing tucked away and passed over, but which kept on all the same. Just like that bike, haha. It really felt like a place out of time, and I was happy to capture just a bit of that time.

Final Thoughts On These Venice Beach Engagement Photos

I love all my photoshoots. But I can’t say enough how much sessions like this one mean to me. Getting to help people like Ellyssa and James experience something a little new, a little different, is so fulfilling for me. Not only do they get some great photos out of the deal, but they also get a great time too.

Maybe you’d like to take some great Venice Beach engagement photos and have a great time too. Or maybe you’d like it to do all that somewhere else. Either way, let me know what you need, and I’ll see what I can cook up for you.
