Ellyssa + James Unique Saguaro Hotel Wedding
Taking the typical and making it unique. That’s my jam. Although Saguaro Hotel is a popular destination for weddings, Ellysssa and James specifically chose me to create something out of the box for them, and I think we worked so well on that! This really did turn out to be a unique Saguaro Hotel wedding shoot.
Working Together
Before their Saguaro Hotel wedding, I worked with Ellyssa and James on their engagement photos at Venice Beach. For that photoshoot, we went with a biker vibe. The bike was a bicycle you couldn’t even ride. I’ve never spent money better.
One of the things I love most is when I get to work with couples who trust me. It feels more like a collab than work. I can get really creative, and so can they. It just works, and what we end up with rewards that creativity and collaboration.
Prior to their engagement shoot, Ellyssa and James had never been in front of a camera before. They trusted me to help them through it. I always go out of my way to make my clients feel comfortable and safe. It was true for everyone else, and it was true for Ellyssa and James.
They shined during their engagement session. They saw that I had validated their trust, so they trusted me again to handle their Saguaro Hotel wedding photos.
I was happy to do it.
Saguaro Hotel Wedding Bathroom Photos
Getting to explore the hotel and find places to pose Ellyssa and James in ways that hadn’t been done before was a highlight of taking their Saguaro Hotel wedding photos. They had mentioned they loved my bathroom shots from a previous wedding, so we absolutely did that. They turned out just as great.
I brought their florals along. The whole color scheme of the bathroom plus the florals and Ellyssa and James’ clothes worked well to create a warm, intimate space. We had a lot of fun turning up that intimacy and trying out different poses. I work with a lot of spaces, but bathrooms continue to be a fun one.
The Joy Of What I Do
I really loved helping make Ellyssa and James’ Saguaro Hotel wedding photos and day special and intentional for them. I loved it during their engagement photos as well, and if we ever work together again, I’ll love it then too.
This is why I do what I do. I don’t want the perfect or the traditional. Those have their place, and they can find their way into my space too, but not intentionally.
I seek the awkward, real art inside a couple, inside the space they occupy, and I’d like to seek it with you too. All I ask is for a little trust. Well, more than a little trust. But if any of my previous clients are worth going by, and they are in my book, then you can trust me with your art.
I don’t do this for me. I do this for all of us. And I’m only happy if you are. So, let me know when you’re ready to do this.
