Eden and Deidre’s Industrial Moody Wedding in Brooklyn
Even though I’m always a fan of traditional weddings, being a part of this styled wedding shoot in Brooklyn was a dream. And it was such a privilege getting to work with a couple like Eden and Deidre. They wanted an industrial, moody wedding shoot to commemorate their union, and the result was stunning.
Eden and Deidre are a beautiful couple, and they have a lot of love for one another. Even though they wanted more of an industrial feel for their styled wedding shoot, we didn’t want it to come across as harsh or stark. That’s not at all their vibe.
We decided to add a lot of greenery and some linens to soften up the shoot a little bit. Combine that with Eden and Deidre’s amazing wedding outfits, and you have a moody wedding shoot that’s 50 shades of fabulous.
Who Doesn’t Love A Brooklyn Loft?
I was in love with this Brooklyn loft. All the industrial windows made everything feel open and airy. And it made for a really strong background for the shoot, with the white-painted brick and black framed windows.
Eden and Deidre looked so great in their wedding outfits. Eden wore a gorgeous black power-femme suit with a deep neckline. And Deidre had an off-the-shoulder, long-sleeved silk wedding dress with a flowing veil.
Together, they looked every bit the part of a power couple. And they were so comfortable in front of the camera, so it was easy for us to get the moody wedding shoot they were looking for.
Stephanie from Flower Disco brought a ton of amazing greenery as decor and as centerpieces for the dinner table. We also had Keely with Rivera Creative and Natalie from Natalie Jo Styling to help create an overall look that felt like a modern-day cocktail party.
Eden and Deidre’s Moody Wedding Shoot
One thing I really loved about this shoot was the contrast of colors. The black, white and vibrant green were an incredible color combination. Playing with the light in this airy space and highlighting these colors along with Eded and Deidre was straight-up delicious.
And there were so many little details in the decor, too. The flatware had a deep green floral pattern on it, which complemented the linens and floral arrangements perfectly. Even the green grapes made a statement piece on the table arrangements.
Final Thoughts
Unique locations are always fun, especially when you’re shooting a non-traditional wedding. Eden and Deidre were the stars of this shoot in so many ways. Not only did they look amazing and knew just how to work with the camera, but they also so clearly adore one another.
They have a different kind of love story, where they met later in life after discovering what they wanted in a relationship. And seeing them come together in a way that is “so them” was really special.
If you have some ideas for a non-traditional wedding, I’d love to hear about them.
