New York City Engagement Session | Carley + Abe

Carley and Abe’s New York City engagement session was an absolute dream.

Before we dive into the engagement session, let's rewind a bit. I met Carly and Abe for the first time at a bar not far from their apartment - it’s always natural to feel a little nervous before your engagement session. After all, having your picture taken can feel a bit intimidating. So I always love meeting my couples somewhere that feels comfortable to them, so we can relax and get to know each other before the engagement session begins. This is *especially* true in a New York City engagement session, the energy of the city is incredible but it’s so easy for it to become overwhelming. One of my biggest priorities is that my couples feel as comfortable as possible in their sessions, so we had a quick drink (and sighting of Joe Jonas) before heading out for their engagements!

Instead of going for the cliché landmarks, we decided to keep it local. We strolled around their neighborhood, engaging in casual conversations and soaking in the atmosphere. This laid-back approach allowed Carly and Abe to relax and just be themselves. It also gave me the opportunity to capture some candid moments that highlighted their genuine connection in the spaces that mean the most to them in New York City.
